Converse is facing criticism over an ad featuring K-pop star Karina, after some viewers said a white triangular shape in the image resembled a KKK hood and the positioning of the sneakers evoked lynching imagery. The company apologized and removed the controversial campaign material, saying the imagery was not intended to cause harm.
